MATTO is a brand name for our weaving products made of traditional material called mendong (fimbristylis umbellaris). All Matto products are designed and developed by Päivi Punamäki. The design concept reflects the mix between East and West, as it combines local traditional West Java weaving technique with Scandinavian weaving method. This is revealed in the composition of color, style, and design. What makes it special about Matto is, each side has a different pattern, and both can be used as a face side.
